Ladybrook Schools and Church

Images from a week helping schools and St Mary's Church in Ladybrook, Nottinghamshire, create textile hangings.

In October 2007 Carol spent a week at St Mary’s Church, Ladybrook, in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, helping church members and eight classes from four local primary schools create two large textile hangings.

More than 100 children and adults took part during an exhilarating week. A group from St Mary’s continue to meet weekly to sew the pieces created into two six metre by three metre textile hangings. The group sew, chat and eat together and have found it to be a great way to get to know each other.

The hangings will be exhibited in St Mary’s, each of the schools that took part, and in Mansfield council offices.
